Vienna’s city centre has its special charm with the soft light, the narrow cobblestone streets with shadows of the houses creating beautiful shapes that we love to use for our compositions, and the quiet elegance that surrounds everything. For this pre-wedding photoshoot in Vienna, we wanted to capture the feeling of liveliness in the calm surroundings, a celebration of love and connection that makes the city such a romantic place for couples. We started the session near Vienna State Opera as that is one of our favourite spots, wandering through side streets and beautiful Viennese gardens, letting the couple simply enjoy their time together. Our approach to engagement photography in Vienna is always focused on authenticity — rather than posing too much, we create a plot and action and photograph what is happening rather than asking people to pose. That is one of our core principles in creating these lively cinematic photo galleries. The shoot continued to the former emperor’s palace Hofburg and its adjacent gardens – Burggarten and Volksgarten.

At the right time of the day, using light as our artistic tool, we create these dynamic scenes where light and shadow dance together. The couple’s chemistry, our prompts and skills of light and composition together with the city’s charm is what made this romantic photoshoot in Vienna city centre look so dreamy and dynamic as you can see below.

Conclusion

This photoshoot ended up very romantic and stylish looking: the warm early-autumn sun paired well with the couple’s joyful demeanour and their elegant classic outfits were the perfect choice for the historic locations. We are immensely grateful for the chance to have contributed to their love story. The couple was very happy with the results and it was fun to see them post pictures of their friends going around their hometown with a big print of one of these photos during their wedding 🙂
