Elopement Style Wedding Photoshoot in Austrian Alps

This February, we had the chance to photograph a small, elopement style wedding photoshoot in the beautiful city of Klagenfurt, nestled in the heart of Austria. The sun was as bright as you could imagine, yet the air remained crisp and cold. Armed with both digital and film cameras, we captured the intimate and timeless atmosphere of the day, exploring a mix of city locations, a scenic viewpoint, and, of course, the beautiful Wörthersee.

Austrian lakes have a certain magic, and without that final stop, the photoshoot wouldn’t have felt complete. The cold weather meant we had to keep things moving to ensure the couple stayed comfortable, but even with the time constraints, we managed to document a lot from multiple angles and formats. Specifically photographing together allowed us to capture everything in this cinematic style, and thanks to Anna meticulously editing each photograph, it turned out exactly as we wanted. The mix of urban scenery and natural beauty gave the shoot a unique character, contrasting the elegant simplicity of an elopement with the vast landscape of the lake. The vintage Mercedes of the groom added some style to the photo series we created

While Fedor photographed broader scenes, Anna was capturing details and mood. Using varied techniques that are often used in cinematography we captured intimate moments mixing context shots and closeups. We went for a slightly colder colour palette as that expressed elegance of the elopement.

We wanted to share this gallery for inspiration and enjoyment, this beautiful location, the couple and this mood of the sunny fresh day in mid February, when it’s almost spring but there is still snow lying somewhere between the mountains. If we were asked to do exactly this photoshoot again without hesitation the answer would be yes!
