Elopement Photoshoot In Vienna: A full Romantic Gallery

In this post we would like to share the gallery of photos we created recently. This was an outstanding elopement photoshoot in Vienna, taking place across several locations around the centre and later closer to nature at Kahlenberg hill.

We started our journey next to the State Opera House, where we captured the first few scenes. Our approach to this shoot — as always — was guided by our cinematic style. Rather than simply making couple portraits, we prefer to build scenes that feel like fragments of a film, telling a love story through different moods and perspectives. The structure of the shoot followed a journey through some of the most beautiful spots in central Vienna, before escaping the busy city.

We tried to keep the mood somewhere between being lively and energetic, and at the same time romantic, almost like in fantasy stories. Some moments were joyful and playful, others more quiet and intimate. Our idea was to make these moments in Vienna feel magical, but also honest — sometimes more styled, and sometimes just showing the couple as they are. As feelings never stay still and always shift through time, we wanted to reflect those transitions through the whole photo series.

We photographed for around 3.5 hours using three cameras, four lenses and light. We came with a rough, slightly experimental shot list — some scenes and angles were defined in advance, but there was also a lot of improvisation. That’s something we value a lot in elopement photography — inspiration often comes during the shoot itself, so we always leave space for changes and new ideas. We like to plan each step in advance, but leave enough freedom to adjust everything as we go.

The weather on the day was almost the best we could imagine. It was raining time to time, but only for a few minutes each time, and for the rest of the day there was sun and beautiful dramatic looking sky. Of course sunny weather always works, but when there is so much variation and this dramatic overcast sky with sun coming through the clouds, it creates memorable atmosphere.
